Red/Silver Maple Bonsai Seedling

3 year old Red/Silver maple seedling -- This maple looks similar to Acer diabolicum family or Kiriha Kaede in Japan, but it has more brilliant colors in Autumn. It has five deeply lobed with thick texture leaves that turn from medium to dark green in spring to yellow to brilliant red in fall. An excellent wetland species, can tolerate wet, swampy soil conditions. A wide spreading tree with arching to pendulous branches. Native to easten USA. Although the leaves are larger than most other Japanese maples, it can be trained to small compact bonsai by defoliation process; nevertheless, it may need a bit longer time to full branching.
